About Mustard Seed Tutors
I grew up attending a small rural public school in Alabama — a place where big academic opportunities weren’t common and advanced resources were limited. I worked hard, asked questions, and learned to navigate challenges largely on my own. Eventually, I became the first student in my school’s history to attend Princeton University.
At Princeton, I earned a degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Robotics — a path that required deep mathematical understanding, problem-solving, and persistence. But just as important as the academics was what I learned about how students learn, struggle, and grow.
Why I Work With Students in Grades K–12
Every child deserves a real chance to succeed in math — and in school overall. Academic struggles often aren’t about ability. They’re about confidence, clarity, and the right kind of support at the right time.
Every student is different. Each has their own strengths, goals, and way of understanding the world. My approach is centered on meeting students where they are and helping them build confidence in a way that feels manageable and empowering — not overwhelming.
Why Intervention, Not Traditional Tutoring
Traditional tutoring often focuses on getting through homework or reviewing what was already taught. While that can help in the short term, it doesn’t always address why a student is struggling or why grades aren’t improving.
I focus on academic intervention instead of standard tutoring because today’s tutoring market is crowded with one-size-fits-all solutions that prioritize time spent over results. Many students don’t need more tutoring — they need FAST targeted support that identifies gaps, rebuilds foundations, and teaches them how to perform under real academic pressure.
Intervention is structured, intentional, and results-driven. It’s about fixing what’s holding a student back and giving them the tools to move forward independently.
My Philosophy
At the core of my work is a simple belief:
Extraordinary achievement begins with unwavering faith. Like the tiny mustard seed that becomes the mightiest tree, we see boundless possibility within every student. Your current circumstances do not define your future.
"... If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
When students understand why they’re struggling and how to improve, their confidence grows — and grades follow. My goal is not just to improve math performance, but to help students develop the clarity and belief they can succeed long after our work together ends.
