I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.” (Psalm 85:8, KJV)
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
For me, when I am overwhelmed with temptation, that is when I struggle to hear the voice of God the most. My voice becomes louder. My desires become stronger. If you feel the same. Do not worry or be anxious because you are not alone.
Meditate on this verse. Notice that it starts with saying “I will hear…” not God will speak.
What I have learned, is that we must first be disciplined in attempting to hear the voice of God—even when the crashing waves around us are too loud. We must lead ourselves to God’s Holy presence, mustering up the self-control and courage to seek God’s will not ours. If your heart and mind tell you to pursue something that is not of God, push yourself to slow down and bring it to the Lord. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23, KJV).
Close your eyes and imagine your private place with God. Ask Him to meet you and make the ground you are standing on Holy.

When our heart desires to encounter God, He will meet us. Sometimes, He will come like a still wind or thunder. Regardless, He fills us with peace and transforms our hearts. So, do not be discouraged about your situation or struggle. Rejoice in knowing that there is a Father waiting for you with open arms. His courts are always open to you. He wishes to speak peace upon you.
